About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Perioperative Nurse Specialist to join our team at Thomas Talent Network. Key Responsibilities:- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients before, during, and after surgeries to ensure optimal care and safety.
- Operational Readiness: Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment is functioning properly to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Surgical Support: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to provide expert support during procedures.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs to quickly identify any changes or concerns.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely treatment.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care to inform future treatment decisions.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate patient care with other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and effective care delivery.
- Patient Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families to empower them in their healthcare journey.
- Crisis Management: Participate in emergency response and crisis management to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Infection Control: Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections and promote a safe environment.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to drive continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Licensure: Valid RN license
- Experience: Previous experience in perioperative nursing
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, effective communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures, ability to maintain composure in emergency situations, commitment to patient safety and advocacy, proficiency in using electronic medical records systems, willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development, strict adherence to ethical and professional standards
- Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience and location
