Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Child Psychiatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at Northwest Children's Home, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill children receiving treatment and rehabilitative services.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

About the Role

This position will work closely with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist in treatment plans for clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with behavioral health, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat simple and complex psychiatric and mental health problems from adjustment disorders to serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar illness, major depression, and anxiety disorders.
  • Manage, coordinate, and evaluate the care and education of the client and family along the healthcare process.
  • Support clients who need to be closely monitored.
  • Administer medications and therapies with complex protocols.
  • Operate medical equipment and stay up-to-date with required technology, processes, and equipment.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including on-call duty.
  • Maintain an understanding and respect for children and their needs, as well as their families and cultures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid and current Registered Nurse license issued by the Idaho Board of Nursing, experience in psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic techniques, and a minimum of 1 year experience with behavioral health.
