Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Architect

Job Description:

Storm3 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Architect who is passionate about developing scalable, high-performance healthtech applications. This senior role offers flexibility for the candidate to focus on backend, frontend, or full-stack development based on their strengths and interests. They are looking for someone with solid technical expertise and a product-focused mindset—an individual who is invested in the end-user experience and enjoys collaborating with product teams to create innovative, real-world solutions.

In this role, the candidate will not only design, develop, and optimize applications but also provide leadership to help nurture and guide the engineering team as it grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and implementation of essential components in their microservice architecture.

Develop backend and frontend systems according to expertise.

Collaborate with Product and UX teams to understand user needs and create scalable, efficient solutions.

Take ownership of features from concept to production, ensuring they deliver real value to users while upholding technical excellence.

Ensure seamless integration with on-premises deployments across various cloud and bare-metal environments.

Optimize and maintain high-performance APIs, databases, and services supporting their clinical trial software.

Offer technical leadership and mentor junior engineers, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented atmosphere.

Play a pivotal role in scaling the engineering team, with potential opportunities for team lead or engineering management positions.

Qualifications:

5+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in backend (Java/Spring) and/or frontend (JavaScript/Angular) technologies.

Proven experience with microservices and cloud platforms.

Product-oriented mindset, balancing technical requirements with user-centric design for a seamless experience.

Familiarity with deploying applications in complex, regulated environments, particularly in healthcare or clinical trials.

Strong problem-solving skills, capable of designing solutions for scalability, performance, and security.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide teams and influence decision-making.

Interest or experience in leadership, team-building, or mentoring, with a desire to grow into a team lead role.

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of healthcare standards (HIPAA, FHIR) and experience in regulated environments.

Familiarity with Electronic Health Record Systems (EHRs) like Epic or Cerner.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes in Kubernetes.

Exposure to multiple cloud providers and bare-metal infrastructures.
