Job Overview

The Membership Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive volunteer community and driving qualified membership and volunteer leads for Girl Scouts of Alaska. This dynamic position requires a strong ability to communicate effectively, build rapport with volunteers and colleagues, and develop creative solutions for volunteer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for recruitment, retention, and support of volunteers and Service Units.
  • Provide exceptional support and assistance to volunteers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure volunteer training through gsLearn, and welcome new volunteers with initial onboarding training.

Requirements:

  • Experience in volunteer recruitment and management preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with volunteers, staff, community partners, and external stakeholders.
  • A customer service mindset with a focus on providing exceptional support and assistance to volunteers.
  • Familiarity with the Girl Scout program, policies, and procedures, or a willingness to learn and become proficient in these areas.
