We are seeking a highly qualified Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Lamphere School District. As a key member of our special education department, you will provide essential support services to students with communication needs.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing communication skills, providing consultative services to instructional staff, and developing individualized student communication systems. You will also participate in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Teams (MET) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and provide in-service training to parents, staff, and community agencies as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct service to special education and low-incidence handicapped students
  • Assess communication skills using standardized tests in formal and informal settings
  • Offer consultative services to instructional staff to support student learning
  • Interpret assessments and make recommendations to parents
  • Develop and implement individualized student communication systems
  • Participate in MET and IEP meetings to ensure student needs are met
  • Provide in-service training to parents, staff, and community agencies as needed
  • Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral management techniques and developmentally disabled populations
Requirements
  • Masters degree in speech-language pathology
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with SB (Speech and Language Impairment) Endorsement or ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology
  • Experience working with developmentally disabled students is desirable
  • Knowledge of alternative communication systems, related techniques, and equipment
  • Familiarity with Michigan and Federal Special Education laws
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications and online sourcing tools
  • Able to withstand the demands of teaching
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, approximately 10 months long, with an estimated salary range of $55,000-$75,000 based on experience and qualifications. The district offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
