About the Role

Coldspring is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to support all projects assigned by the supervisor. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing equipment, infrastructure, and process improvements following scientific engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and design projects, including equipment, infrastructure, and process improvements
  • Develop and produce plans and specifications for building construction, systems, modifications, and repairs
  • Collaborate with internal support departments and outside resources to develop and facilitate scope, estimates, budgets, schedules, drawings, and installation plans
  • Review and develop plant and equipment layouts
  • Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop resolutions for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, safety, environmental, and administration
  • Apply mathematical and scientific principles to design, evaluate, and repair equipment, buildings, products, processes, and infrastructure
  • Design and develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles
  • Support designs with analysis and calculations as required
  • Provide interim supervisory leadership and consultation as needed
  • Mentor and provide project management and leadership strategies to engineering staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to lead and direct people who are not direct reports
  • Familiarity with general construction, print reading, and scheduling
  • Excellent design skills with the ability to reverse engineer facilities, processes, infrastructure, and equipment
  • Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing
  • Ability to operate precision measuring tools
  • Above-average drafting and 3D modeling skills
