Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is a key member of the pharmacy team, responsible for coordinating and overseeing pharmacy clinical services. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacoeconomics, pharmacotherapeutics, and pharmaceutical care, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee new and established pharmacy clinical services
  • Implement, interpret, and provide consultation for policies, procedures, and standards of practice related to medication use
  • Review and analyze pharmacy clinical services, recommending and implementing changes to increase efficiency and level of service
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient-focused medication therapy management and pharmaceutical care services
  • Monitor drugs and/or therapeutic classes targeted for review and implement corrective strategies to optimize drug use
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Advanced study in pharmacy or healthcare-related field, preferably a master's degree or comparable work experience
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Rhode Island
  • Maintains current unrestricted licensure as a licensed pharmacist in the State of Rhode Island
  • Maintains current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications
