Job Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. About the Role:
The Medical Support Specialist will work under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse, assisting with various tasks related to patient care and hospital operations. Your duties will include performing selected nursing procedures, treatments, and functional tasks, as well as observing, reporting, and recording routine and specific patient data. You will also provide safe and comfortable lifting, positioning, and ambulation of patients, utilizing mechanical devices as necessary.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with performing selected nursing procedures, treatments, and functional tasks under the guidance of the Registered Professional Nurse.
- Observe, report, and record routine and specific patient data on flow sheets or electronic medical records.
- Provide safe and comfortable lifting, positioning, and ambulation of patients, using mechanical devices when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered, and tidy environment, adhering to infection control guidelines.
- Participate in the patient belongings process, including reporting valuables to the RN and documenting accordingly.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably as a CNA or nurse aide.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy equipment, if needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records systems, if applicable.
