Admissions Counselor

The Admission Advisor is the primary point of contact for prospective students at Yavapai College. This role plays a critical part in guiding students through the new student checklist, ensuring a smooth transition into higher education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with the application process, including coordinating placement testing and managing transcript requests.
• Advise students on financial options, residency requirements, and preliminary career goals.
• Connect students with the appropriate academic advisor and provide personalized support throughout the admission process.
• Manage a large caseload of new and transfer community college students, ensuring timely completion of the New Student Checklist.
• Collaborate with various college departments to support a positive student experience and improve retention and graduation rates.

Requirements:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college admissions policies, procedures, and programs.
• Participate in student outreach activities and development events throughout the year.
• Perform general cashier duties, including tuition payments and miscellaneous purchases.
