Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Food Service Professional to join our team at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo - a DoubleTree by Hilton. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our menu items, ingredients, and daily specials to effectively respond to client questions and provide recommendations.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, take food and beverage orders from diners, serve orders promptly, and accommodate any special needs or requests.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend all pre-shift and departmental meetings to improve communications and develop an understanding of products, services, and facilities.
  • Payment and Transactions: Collect correct payment from guests and ensure that the guest check and method of payment are accurate to safeguard both the client and the business from mistakes in transactions.
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform all restocking and cleaning activities as directed, including opening and closing duties.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and other team members.
  • Industry Experience: Prior food service industry experience is highly desired.
  • Customer Focus: Proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality.
  • Education: Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification (GED).
  • Time Management: Displays impeccable time management and organizational skills.
