Part-Time Assistant-Office Operations Coordinator

Job Summary:
One80 Place is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Shelter Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial needs assessments and take prompt action to address critical needs.
- Orient clients to shelter programs, expectations, and schedules, and facilitate their progress towards permanent housing.
- Identify clients requiring assistance with housing documents and document pertinent client information.
- Report critical incidents to the Shelter Manager and collect data for funding and statistical reports.
- Assist with facility maintenance, IT, and alarm issues, and report needs for cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to Operation Staff.
- Ensure the safety of One80 Place properties through regular walk-throughs and inspections.
- Collaborate with shelter staff and other One80 Place employees to maintain a team environment.
- Participate in staff and team meetings, and demonstrate effective communication skills in building relationships with clients, staff, and vendors.
- Substitute for other staff as needed, conduct housing stability groups, and engage clients in goal planning and needs discussions.
- Prepare clients for meals, support kitchen staff, and communicate pertinent information to other staff.
- Assist community members with various needs and respond to incidents to ensure staff and client safety.
Requirements:
- Two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or a similar population.
- Able and willing to work rotating shifts, including overnight, day, and evening shifts, as well as holidays and weekends.
Working Conditions:
The Shelter Support Assistant will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, using phones, computers, time clocks, security cameras, radios, and general office machinery.
