Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Avera McKennan Hospital. As an RN in the NICU, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, individualized care to critically ill newborns and their families.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Provide emotional support and education to families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, adhering to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of South Dakota or eligibility for multi-state licensure.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Current certification in neonatal critical care nursing, or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
