Diagnostic Sonographer

As a Diagnostic Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital and/or clinical setting. This includes performing routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for communicating with radiologists, assisting patients, and reviewing exams. Additionally, you will be required to perform clerical duties as needed and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served
Communicate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals
Assist patients and transport them as needed
Review exams and file work
Restock supplies and maintain a clean and organized workspace
Perform quality assurance functions
Requirements:
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonographer program or 2 years of previous ultrasound experience
High school diploma or general education development (GED) required
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certificate in Ob-Gyn or Abdomen required
Sonography technologist license (Oregon) required
Basic life support certification within 1 month of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience performing ultrasound exams, preferably within the last 3 years
Vascular ultrasonographer experience preferred
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) ARDMS certification preferred
Work Environment:
This is an on-call position with variable days and hours, Sunday through Saturday. Locations are any of the ultrasound sites in the North Service Area. You will be required to work independently and perform exams confidently and accurately.
