Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to pediatric patients in a home health setting.

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), you will play a vital role in enhancing patients' independence and daily living skills through individualized care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in treatment implementation by collaborating with the supervising OT to design and implement engaging, goal-oriented occupational therapy activities tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Documenting patient care by accurately documenting treatment types and patient responses in clinical notes on the day of each visit, ensuring timely integration into patient records for consistency and quality care.
  • Maintaining patient records, including progress summaries, to support effective ongoing care.
  • Utilizing community resources to make appropriate referrals that enhance patient support and treatment outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Educational background: Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance or equivalent.
  • Licensure: Active Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in Texas.
  • Preferred qualifications: One year of supervised experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in pediatrics or home health.
