Construction Site Manager

Are you a seasoned construction professional looking to take on a challenging role with a global company? Planate Management Group is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction of a cogeneration power plant at NAVFAC's Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000. About the RoleThis is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of construction management principles. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting daily inspections and maintaining a written log documenting areas/operations inspected, inspection dates, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and dates of corrections.
- Attaching safety inspection logs to Contractors' daily production reports.
- Conducting mishap investigations and completing required accident reports.
- Reporting mishaps and near misses promptly.
- Maintaining relevant safety reference material on the job site.
- Attending pre-construction conferences, pre-work meetings, preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
- Reviewing, approving, implementing, and enforcing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Accident Prevention Plans (APP) for compliance with EM 385-1-1.
- Establishing a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System to monitor and resolve outstanding deficiencies.
- Ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Maintaining a list of hazardous chemicals on site.
- Maintaining a weekly list of high-hazard activities, such as energy, equipment, excavation, confined space entry, and elevation.
- Providing and documenting site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction industry, preferably in a similar capacity.
- Experience working on federal government contracts, particularly with NAVFAC or the DoD.
- Certifications in OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1.
- Strong knowledge of construction quality management principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
