MDS Director

We are seeking a skilled MDS Director to join our team at Jupiter Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year.

The MDS Director will be responsible for overseeing the completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument, ensuring accurate and thorough data entry in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy and procedures. They will also act as an in-house case manager, coordinating services with physicians, families, third-party payers, and facility staff.

• Accurately complete the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and Care Plans within established timelines.
• Collaborate with therapy staff to select the correct reason for assessment and Assessment Reference Date (ARD), capturing the RUG score that reflects the care and services provided.
• Foster effective communication with Administrator and Director of Nursing to identify regulatory risks, clinical trends, and operational outcomes.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze Quality Improvement/Quality Management data and identify trends with the Director of Nursing Services on a monthly basis.
• Educate or provide company resources to IDT members to ensure they are knowledgeable of the RAI process, and provide training on new or updated processes as needed.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A current, active RN license in the state of practice.
• At least two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• At least one year of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Prior experience as an MDS coordinator is highly desirable.
