About the Role

At R.H. White Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator Lead to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role in developing accurate and cost-competitive estimates for commercial, utility, and water/wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a bid team in the development of estimates, ensuring adherence to company safety policies and codes of conduct.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings to gather project requirements and objectives, working closely with clients, engineers, and architects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain material and subcontract pricing, while identifying and clarifying project details.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment production analysis, and evaluate subcontractor and material pricing.
  • Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure developmental milestones are met.
  • Review project plans and specifications, presenting final estimates to executive officers.
  • Leverage technical expertise to support operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (preferred) or 5+ years' mechanical estimating experience; ideally with experience in commercial construction, utility, and water/wastewater industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking, prioritization, and staying organized under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sage/Timberline, PlanSwift, or similar software programs.
