Responsibilities

The Commodity Product Manager will:

  • Screen and negotiate with vendors to select the most suitable product lines
  • Manage product lines to obtain the most favorable terms, prices, service, and promotional support
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of products, production processes, industry trends, and competitor analysis
  • Facilitate direct buys and delivery between customers and suppliers, as needed
  • Evaluate monthly reports to optimize product line performance and contribution

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A college degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams
  • Preferred qualifications include three to five years of experience in a related job function, lumber trader and panel experience, and previous experience in a lumber-related purchasing and/or sales or general line product management in the building materials industry
