Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with expertise in Python scripting to join our team at Edgewater Federal Solutions. As an integral part of our IT program, you will be responsible for system administration, patching, backup and restore operations, software license management, and assisting the Information Assurance (IA) Team with account management and system vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Linux Administration duties, including OS installation, network configuration, and package/patch management.
  • Work with our team to deploy and administer RTB (Raise the Bar) CDS (Cross Domain Solutions).
  • Assist with software installations, troubleshoot software install issues, and perform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updates.
  • Ensure system backups and provide data recovery services.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree and 8 years of IT experience, with a proven track record of problem-solving using strong critical thinking, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • An active DOE Q Government Clearance, with US Citizenship required to hold a DOE Q Clearance.
  • Residency in Los Alamos, NM, as this position is 100% onsite.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Python scripting, with Python experience being mandatory.
  • Strong technical aptitude, ability to research and solve complex issues independently, and excellent verbal and written customer service and communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience with Linux (RedHat or Ubuntu) and capability to perform OS installation, network configuration, and package/patch management.
  • Experience working with one-way diodes.
  • Knowledge/experience with 'Raise the Bar' and 'Cross Domain Strategy'.

The estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
