Pharmacy Technician III

Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician III will perform a full range of duties in the Moores Cancer Center and Outpatient Pavilion pharmacy setting. The incumbent will assist pharmacists in the preparation of medications, including antineoplastics/chemotherapy, for patient use in accordance with established procedures under USP 797/HSP 800. The technician will also assist in the distribution of medications via Pyxis Med Station A Stations, maintain inventory levels, and perform other duties as assigned.

- Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Pharmacy terminology and calculations.
- Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
- Strong detail and organizational skills to sort, file, and retrieve information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
- Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
- Ability to work in a self-directed work team environment and function effectively in a high-volume, multiple demand environment.
- Two - five years of previous IV and Chemo experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $64,519 - $80,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $38.41
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
