The Classroom Assistant & Lab Assistant is a part-time position that provides support to the course instructor to ensure the effective delivery of the required materials and to foster a positive learning environment.

The position will work on a schedule established by their supervisor and must be able to work independently from written or verbal instructions.

Career & Technical Education departments include Agricultural Sciences, Applied Sciences and Technologies, and Business, Computer Sciences and Technologies.

The Classroom Assistant & Lab Assistant must be able to work well with instructors and assist with classroom instruction, preparing laboratory materials, and obtaining and distributing course materials.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with classroom instruction.
  • Prepare laboratory materials.
  • Obtain and distribute course materials.
  • Assist with completing forms in accordance with department procedures; submit reports and other materials as required.
  • Operate office equipment, such as copiers, PCs, and/or phone systems.
  • Work independently and efficiently.
  • May assist with special projects and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting.
  • Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance.
  • Appropriate attire as discussed for the work environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
