About the Role:

The Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist to prepare, package, document, and label drug products. This role involves performing all required data entry and filing associated with the process, as well as functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Perform all required data entry and filing associated with the process.
  • Perform functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.
  • Participate in the Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.

Requirements:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.
  • Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • 1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy drugs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in a pharmacy preparing sterile I.V. admixture.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Experience in IV solution processing.
