Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduling Administrator/Scheduler to join our team at SGA. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, pre-certifying, and verifying insurance eligibility for patients undergoing surgical procedures at Children's Hospital Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center, as well as outside hospitals and surgery centers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient registration and scheduling, medical insurance verification, and proficiency in Cerner and/or similar EMR systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will work closely with parents, other departments, and vendors to ensure seamless patient scheduling and registration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and pre-certify patients for surgical procedures
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Review and document procedure details
  • Work with parents and other departments to ensure timely patient scheduling and registration
  • Coordinate vendor or specialized equipment requests

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of progressive experience in patient registration and scheduling, medical insurance verification
  • Proficiency in Cerner and/or similar EMR systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of medical insurance verification procedures and CPT/ICD-10 coding
