About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at East Jefferson General Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and treatment in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, including arterial punctures, artificial airway types and sizes, initial ventilatory settings for mechanical ventilation, and ventilator changes based on established parameters.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and communication.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring safe operation and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current American Heart Association (BLS, CPR) certifications
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
