Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Examiner to perform disability assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's benefits process.

This is an IN-PERSON position, requiring the examiner to review medical records electronically and conduct focused physical exams on each Veteran.

The examiner will document exam findings using a web portal, but will NOT make disability determinations – those decisions are made by the United States Veterans Administration.

This role ONLY performs Disability Assessments; treating and prescribing medication are not responsibilities of this position.

Examiners can expect to see 3-5 Veterans per day and work a standard Full-Time schedule (8am-4pm).

About the Role:

  • Perform Independent Medical Assessments with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions.
  • Maintain excellent time management skills, staying on task to meet requirements.
  • Hold a current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
  • Be proficient in computer use.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license.

Compensation: The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 > $143,199.88 annually, based on industry standards and national averages for similar positions.
