Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled RN-Endocsopy Specialist to join our team at OLGMC GI Lab. As a key member of our endoscopy team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and managing nursing staff, and contributing to the achievement of our department's strategic goals.
Responsibilities- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale, and contribute to the improvement of the nursing profession.
- Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of the patient population, including respect for privacy, communication style, and explanation of services or procedures.
- Registered nurse diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
The physical demands of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects, and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
