Procurement Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Strategist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. As a Cost Optimization Specialist, you will play a critical role in executing sourcing and cost strategies across various manufacturing disciplines.

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional with 10+ years of experience in the Powersports or Automotive industry. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving RFQs, maker selections, annual cost reductions, supplier cost requests, and new supplier proposals for designated commodities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with Ariba, SAP, or major ERP systems is a plus.

1. Judge the rationality and accuracy of piece and investment costs for a range of commodities through the review and approval of quotations and estimations submitted by buyers.
2. Create supplier/part/commodity strategies to realize cost reduction, mitigation, and avoidance.
3. Ensure multiple buyers implement cost planning group strategies into actionable plans with high success rates.
4. Approve proposals for maker layout selections considering quality, cost, delivery, development, and management factors.
5. Monitor product design changes to identify factors that could result in not achieving development cost targets.

• Bachelor's degree in business or closely related field or equivalency in procurement tenure and experience.
• 10+ years of procurement experience in Powersports or Automotive industry.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Ariba, SAP, or major ERP systems.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
