Ardaman & Associates, Inc. is one of the largest geotechnical engineering and materials testing consulting firms in the Southeastern U.S. With over 150,000 projects under our belt, we offer a vast range of services to clients across industries.We have an exciting opportunity available for a skilled Field Geologist with 0 to 5 years' experience to join our team. This role will involve working on a wide range of hydrogeological, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering projects in central Florida and throughout the U.S. The successful candidate will support our water resource department and geotechnical department in providing geology, soils, surface water, and groundwater field and office services.
The key responsibilities of this role include planning, preparing for, and performing field activities such as collecting soil, rock, and groundwater samples; overseeing well drilling, construction, and testing; conducting geophysical surveys; retrieving records and researching data; measuring surface water discharge; and analyzing data. Strong communication skills are essential, as the candidate will be required to prepare data reports and interact with colleagues and clients.
Key qualifications for this position include a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in presentation software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer. Knowledge of Florida geology and hydrogeology, as well as skill in soil and rock classification, are also highly valued. Additionally, the ability to direct field personnel and supervise drillers on projects is essential.
