Dental Assistant Job Description

About the Role

This position provides chairside dental assistance and office support services in an institution dental clinic. The ideal candidate will be able to perform dental assistant procedures including chairside assistance and expanded functions such as assisting for restorative, endodontic, prosthetic and oral surgical procedures.



Responsibilities


  • Assist dentists with various procedures, including taking radiographs, preparing molds and models, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and providing patients with care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage appointments, and maintain inventory.
  • Perform filing and use personal computers for tasks such as communication, report preparation, and inventory control.
  • Ensure proper infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures are followed at all times.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., dental hygiene, nursing, or health sciences).
  • Certification in CPR by the American Heart Association and training in the use of the AED.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with dental software and technology.
