Special Education Teacher Opening in Pennsylvania with Opportunities for Growth

As a Special Education Teacher at Sunbelt Staffing, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Collaborate with parents, fellow teachers, and support staff to create individualized education plans and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and strategies to accommodate students' learning styles, abilities, and specific disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects using evidence-based teaching techniques and assistive technology as necessary.
- Monitor students' progress regularly, assess their strengths and areas for improvement, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Work closely with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students with special needs in the general education curriculum and provide necessary accommodations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting social-emotional development, self-advocacy, and independence.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the educational process.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- State teaching certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role is preferred.
- A strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of various disabilities and effective strategies for individualized instruction.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
