Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Uchiko Houston, located in the Galleria Area. As a vital member of our team, you will enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine.
  • Learn and perfect your sushi techniques under the guidance of our skilled Chef teams.
  • Understand proper handling and waste reduction of product.
  • Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest.
  • Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grow.
  • Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu.
Requirements:
  • Passion for food and beverage.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Takes initiative and has a sense of urgency.
  • Communication skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Embraces feedback and wants to constantly improve.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing.
  • Lunch and Evening availability, along with weekends.
  • At least 1 year of high volume sushi experience.
