Dental Hygienist Position in Community-Based Health Center

Our Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive dental care services to HealthPoint dental patients. Compensation is dependent on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing general preventative services, including x-rays, cleaning, and polishing teeth, noting conditions of decay, disease, and deviations from normal health, and performing sub-gingival and supra-gingival scaling on HealthPoint patients.
  • Coordinating and promoting preventive dentistry concepts through patient education.
  • Obtaining baseline oral hygiene assessment data based on accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care.
  • Reviewing and documenting patient medical and dental history, treatment plans, and services in patient Electronic Dental Record (EDR).
  • Performing independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law and HealthPoint Dental program protocol and directives.
  • Responsible for personal compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and clinic rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of dental hygiene and clinical provision of dental hygiene services, as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
  • Working with a variety of dental student learners, including dental students and dental residents.

Requirements include:

  • Degree in Dental Hygiene from a two/four-year college or university, community health center experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Beginning level of Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Maintaining current registration/licensure with an RDH license in the State of Washington.
  • Proof of immunizations and/or immunity to COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Annual Influenza, and TB required for all employees.
