Medical Refill Coordinator

Hamilton Health Center Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Refill Coordinator to join our team. As a Medical Refill Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medication refill process.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to patient and pharmacy inquiries regarding medication refills.
- Investigate and resolve medication refill issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and pharmacy staff, promoting a positive image for Hamilton Health Center Inc.
- Accurately document medication refills in patient records.
- Retrieve and review faxed medication refill requests from pharmacies.
- Present refill requests to providers in a timely manner.
- Fax signed medication refill requests back to pharmacies.
- Place faxed signed documents in designated scan bins.
- Document refills in patient charts, following EMR refill documentation workflow.
- Notify patients of denied refill requests.
- Prepare prior authorizations as needed for medication requests.
- Maintain compliance with Hamilton Health Center Inc.'s policies and procedures.
- Suggest improvements to established procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality of service.
- Utilize accurate and appropriate medical terminology in documentation.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, and training sessions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability within scope of practice.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge and competency in areas such as vital signs, blood glucose finger stick, urinalysis test, hemoccult test, peek flow test, pregnancy test, EKG test, and phlebotomy.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in basic data entry computer skills.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Team Player: An industrious and cooperative nature to foster harmonious working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assistance program.
- Prior CPR/First Aid certification.
- One year of experience in a medical or physician office setting.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Nepali, French, Arabic.
