Job Summary

We are seeking an ambitious Maintenance Manager Trainee to join our team As a key member of our maintenance management team, you will undergo extensive training in our fleet management and maintenance processes. This accelerated program is designed to equip you with the critical skills needed to excel as a Maintenance Leader within our organization.

About the Role

This dynamic role offers a unique blend of on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced supervisors and technicians. You will participate in seven rotations over nine to twelve months, focusing on various aspects of our day-to-day maintenance operations:

  • Service Department Management: Gain hands-on experience in managing our service department, ensuring seamless operations and excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Effective Leadership: Develop your leadership skills by working alongside experienced associates, learning how to motivate and guide teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring their needs are met.

As a trusted member of our team, you will work independently while receiving guidance from experienced mentors. Our comprehensive training program will teach you about our vehicle maintenance processes, cutting-edge technology, and industry best practices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Become familiar with Penske's Maintenance processes.
  • Meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a clean and safe working environment.
  • Partner with your manager to learn new skills.
  • Shadow and actively participate in all seven rotation experiences: Introduction to Penske and Operations, Customer Service, Technology Management, Rental, Technician Experience, Parts Management, Service Department Management.

Requirements
  • Team Management Experience: 1 – 3 years of team management experience in an environment with strong operational metrics.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills required.
  • Self-Starter Mindset: A self-starter who takes responsibility and achieves results.
  • Adaptability: Adaptable quick learner with the ability to pick up company systems and processes.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred.

Please note that regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Multiple shift work may be required throughout rotations.
