**Job Summary:**

The Tennessee Board of Regents invites applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach various courses in Biology at Jackson State Community College. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering quality instruction and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Instruction: Teach courses via on-ground as assigned, including evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses, as required.
  • Grading and Feedback: Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades by the deadline established by the Registrar.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete required College trainings, submit required reports (attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions, and surveys), and advise the Program Chair or Dean of any teaching challenges or concerns.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly check your JSCC email and departmental mailbox, respond to messages within 48 hours, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Syllabus Development: Submit class syllabus or update the department syllabus at least two weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of contract execution.

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree (lab courses only) or Master's degree (all non-lab courses) in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate-level Biology is also required. Collegiate-level teaching experience and knowledge of instructional delivery modes are preferred qualifications.

Pay and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $600 per credit hour. The College offers a competitive benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development.
