At St. Vincent de Paul CARES, we are committed to ending homelessness by providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals in need. As an Overnight Navigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our clients and helping them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register new clients between 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., collecting demographic information and other relevant details.
  • Set and monitor client goals, reporting progress to our Case Manager.
  • Provide assistance with client volunteers, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and lounge, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Assist clients with various needs, including general information, housing, apartment searching, veteran assistance, and referrals.
  • Provide access to restrooms, showers, bus passes, environmental respite, and phone use.
  • Utilize Pinellas Homeless Management Information System (PHMIS) to track client progress and needs.
  • Follow up and evaluate client progress, reporting to management on client outcomes.
  • Work with volunteers to maintain shower and laundry facilities, ensuring they are clean and functional.
  • Scan clients into PHMIS for meal services as necessary.
  • Create ID badges for new clients and replacements as needed.
  • Facilitate life-skill groups, promoting personal growth and development.
Requirements:
  • Able to speak, write, and understand English.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity among clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Flexible work schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to set limits, work under deadlines, and multitask.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, self-motivate, and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Possess strong work ethics.
  • Successfully pass Law Enforcement background screening.
  • Valid Florida driver's license if driving an agency vehicle or personal vehicle for company business.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Participate in Agency Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) program and Accreditation/Reaccreditation process.
  • Mission-driven attitude, supplemented with integrity and passion.
