At Premier Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Procedures/Neuro Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Special Procedures/Neuro Interventional Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures, utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. This individual will work under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform Neuro IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
  2. Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the IR procedure.
  3. Implement screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed IR policies/procedures, and perform daily and weekly QC as required.
  4. Prepare and administer contrast media by injection to the patient according to policy, practicing sterile techniques.
  5. Assist Radiologist in interventional radiology procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  6. Coordinate patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  7. Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs, thoroughly educating patients about the exam.
  8. Ensure that all records, files, and reports are properly recorded as required, perform clerical duties when necessary, verify a signed physician order is received, and correspond with the billed procedure.
  9. Maintain knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  10. Follow radiation safety policies and procedures.
