POSITION SUMMARY

Our team is comprised of Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) / Mental Health Technicians who act as floating team members, serving various departments at the hospital as needed.

  • Under the supervision of the Licensed Nurse, these professionals perform direct and indirect nursing care for patients.
  • They are responsible for the care provided to assigned patients and accountable to the unit manager/charge nurse for such care.
  • These technicians provide care to assigned patients in conformance with Nursing Department Policies, Standards of Practice, physician orders, and an approved plan of care.
  • They promote communication of patients' status, change in condition, and patients' need with the licensed nurse.
  • These professionals function within Nursing Department and CVMC/WDR policies and procedures, supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the nursing department and CVMC/Woodridge.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a 75-hour Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program is necessary.
  • Registration in the State of Vermont as a Licensed Nursing Assistant is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of one year of Licensed Nursing Assistant experience is required for the Resource Pool.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care facility is preferred.
  • These technicians must demonstrate the ability to perform basic nursing care skills.
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) and Pro-Act certifications are required within six months of hire. Basic Life Safety (BLS) is also required.
