About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team at ViaQuest Psychiatric & Behavioral Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our clients. You will be responsible for addressing the behavioral and physical health needs of clients receiving treatment for psychiatric symptoms. Your expertise will include performing health care screenings, checking vital signs, monitoring and administering medication, and educating patients on their treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Address the behavioral and physical health needs of clients receiving treatment for psychiatric symptoms.
  • Perform health care screenings and check vital signs.
  • Monitor and administer medication while providing patient education.
  • Gather client information and history from the Nurse Practitioner.
  • Case management duties including coordination of community services.
  • Assist clients in building skills including emotion, stress and anger management, communication and interpersonal relationships.
  • Delegation of required DODD law and rules based on setting and review Dr/s orders checking for accuracy.
  • Scheduling doctor appointments and verifying attendance.
  • Verify labs are ordered are completed.
  • Individual specific training to certified staff on new medications.
  • Follow medication errors and provide education to prevent errors in the future.
  • Assist Programming in getting referral for doctors or equipment needed for the client.
  • Assist with Survey of home/ day program when scheduled.
  • Coordinate with doctors to get signed physician orders every 3 months.
  • Assist with planning of hospital discharges.
  • Assist with information needed for the ISP meetings that are yearly.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Active RN/LPN license.
  • Experience in psychiatric, mental and behavioral health services.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned service area.
  • Preferably has experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.
