Registered Nurse Emergency Room Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Corpus Christi Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who wants to create their own personal career path in nursing.

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community. Our hospitals offer state-of-the-art cardiovascular services, bariatric, GYN, and robotic surgery, as well as a graduate medical education program.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients
  • Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment
  • Participating in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care
  • Routinely providing triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
  • Routinely performing venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
  • Routinely providing intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
Requirements
  • Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification within 6 months of hire
  • One year experience in Emergency Services (ED) (ER) (FSED)
