Pediatric Health Specialist

Spurwink Services is a dynamic organization that provides vital outpatient services to vulnerable populations, including children in the foster care system. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at the Spurwink Center for Safe and Healthy Families.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will provide thorough health assessments for children from birth to age 18 who have been recently placed in foster care. This role requires a strong foundation in pediatric physical assessment, medical record review, and consultation with mental health professionals. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with our psychologists and social workers to provide comprehensive support to these families.
About the PositionThis is a 0.8 FTE opportunity that offers flexibility in scheduling and the option for remote writing time. The ideal candidate will be well-supported by our team of experienced professionals, including two child abuse pediatricians and another Nurse Practitioner.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough physical examinations for comprehensive health assessments of children in foster care
- Review medical records to identify relevant health information and develop recommendations for further care
- Participate in follow-up planning and intervention with families, including referrals to DHS and other community resources
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized plans for client care
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess a background in pediatric nursing, preferably as a PNP or FNP with experience working with children in foster care. A current license to practice in the State of Maine is required.
