About the Assistant Chief Financial Officer Role

This critical leadership position serves as a pipeline into the hospital Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role, managing the Financial Accounting and Reporting Department to ensure effective service delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying healthcare finance principles to drive clinical and financial outcomes
  • Executing HCA Healthcare's capital asset management process
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Health Information Management (HIM) and Case Management/Care Coordination functions
  • Establishing expertise in productivity, staffing, and scheduling
  • Developing competence in hospital accounting, internal control environments, and compliance requirements
  • Exhibiting executive presence through temperament, competencies, and skills across situations
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A Master's degree in a related field is preferred
  • A minimum of three years of experience in finance/accounting or public accounting/audit
  • Experience as a hospital Controller is preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience is also beneficial
  • CPA certification is preferred
