Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide age-specific care in compliance with hospital standards.
  • Provide care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Physician.
  • Utilize approved skill sets to deliver patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by ensuring patient privacy and professional behavior.
  • Act as a patient advocate and facilitate blood draws and IV starts as needed.
  • Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of OEMS-approved training and competency program for Paramedic and current North Carolina Paramedic Certification.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS.
  • Six months of experience in a pre-hospital environment as a Paramedic.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard 36-hour workweek. The work schedule is day shift, with occasional variations. The location of the job is UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh, NC.
