We are seeking a talented Veterinary Technician to join our progressive, well-established five-doctor small animal practice full time. Our hospital is located in Blairstown, NJ, a semi-rural town in beautiful Northwest New Jersey providing easy access via Interstate 80 to New York City and the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Job Overview

This Veterinary Technician position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff in a state-of-the-art facility. We utilize our vet techs in all areas of the hospital and have a large surgery and dentistry caseload along with many medicine cases.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, flexible, and eager to learn and grow with our team. They will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, working closely with our doctors and technicians to provide top-notch medical treatment, and supporting our clients with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Compassionate care of hospitalized animals
  • Physical examinations and patient assessment
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Dentistry
  • Radiology
  • Laboratory work
  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter placement
  • Pharmacy
  • Patient recovery
  • Cleaning and maintaining hospital premises and communal areas
  • Stocking treatment areas with medical equipment and supplies
Requirements
  • Certificate or diploma as a licensed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000-$85,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and paid vacation/sick days, 401(k), generous employee pet discounts, and more.
