Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician, who works under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for producing parts by assembling parts and subassemblies by hand or with simple machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and/or pack products for various departments according to work instructions and/or route sheets.
- Inspect machine at beginning of shift and note any issues on a check sheet.
- Clean and/or lubricate machinery as required to maintain a safe working environment.
- Inspect and place parts in designated trays to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Meet specified quantity and quality guidelines to ensure high-quality products.
- Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition to prevent damage and ensure efficient operation.
- Report any faulty operation or defective material to the supervisor promptly.
- Conduct visual quality inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of noise and physical demands.
- Ability to work in different environments, including slick or slippery work surfaces and at different levels.
- Ability to work with heavy machinery, such as milling machines and injection molding equipment.
- Ability to work in dimly lit areas with minimal visibility.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use various machines.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and to recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications.
- Basic problem-solving or troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Activity/Mode:
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, standing, lifting, reaching, pulling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing.
- Heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
