Cyber Crime Squad Detective

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Crime Squad Detective to join their Intelligence Division. As a member of this elite team, you will be responsible for supporting investigations centered around computers and technology, as well as providing technical assistance on investigations involving electronic devices or computer networks.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the internet and social media for threats made to the MTA.
- Respond to incidents affecting MTA-owned SCADA/OT networks.
- Provide technical assistance on investigations involving electronic devices or computer networks.
- Collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence related to electronic devices.
- Collaborate with members of the Detective Division in ensuring digital evidence is validated and presented accurately to court systems.
- Remain abreast on topics and news related to emerging techniques, tools, and best practices within the Cyber Security and Digital Forensic sectors.
- Train MTAPD personnel on methods of collecting/preserving digital evidence.
- Keep members apprised on current cybercrime threats and trends.
- Retrieve and enhance video and audio from various recording systems.
- Perform video/audio editing when requested.
- Collaborate with MTA representatives in combatting cyber-security threats.
- Implement Technical Surveillance Counter-Measure (TSCM) services when required.
- Deploy and command the MTAPD Drone program.
- Deploy and command MTAPD anti-UAS technology and equipment.
- Install and maintain MTAPD surveillance equipment.
- Liaison with Federal, State, and local law enforcement counterparts to properly investigate and prosecute cyber-security cases.
Qualifications:
- Possess, at minimum, three (3) years of experience within the rank of Police Officer with the MTA PD.
- Possess an FAA, Part 107 certification or present documentation indicating the applicant is in the process of.
- A track record showcasing the applicant is proactive and displays initiative.
- Detailed technical knowledge of computer and network systems.
- Knowledge of attack vectors and information systems penetration techniques.
- Detailed knowledge related to computer architecture, networking technology/tools, firewalls, and proxies.
- Experience in low voltage systems and wiring.
- Experience in installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CCTV systems.
- Exceed in technical literature and presentation.
- Possess the ability to communicate and work well in a team-based setting, while being self-sufficient when required to perform solo tasks.
- Ability to maintain, daily, the police forensics lab while managing multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to operate all department-owned CCS equipment.
- Exceptional written and communicative skills.
- Capable of ascending ladders and installing equipment in remote locations.
- Required to be on call in the event of an emergency and work flexible hours, to include evenings and weekends.
- Successfully pass an interview administered by the panel review board.
- Commit to CCS assignment for a minimum of two (2) years.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in MS Office to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience or a demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive investigations (computer forensic investigations experience is preferred).
