Job Overview

The Blossom Center for Childhood Excellence is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with early learning standards and promotes children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team members to ensure a cohesive and effective educational approach.
  • Plan and execute age-appropriate activities that foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE is a plus.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
