This role is designed to deliver quality instruction using integrative technologies at Volunteer State Community College.

The position involves teaching courses via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teaching evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Dean
  • Submit class syllabi or update department syllabi at least two weeks prior to the first day of class
  • Regularly check VSCC email and respond to messages within 48 hours, except on weekends
  • Submit final grades for each semester by the established deadline
  • Complete required College trainings
  • Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions, and administer surveys by the required deadlines
  • Advise the Department Chair if unable to teach a class
  • Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean
  • Comply with College and TBR policies and guidelines

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (minimum) from an accredited institution plus 18 graduate hours in Engineering for AS Degree Programs
  • Associates degree (minimum) plus work experience in the field for AAS Degree Programs
  • Baccalaureate degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate level teaching experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience using various instructional delivery modes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Salary

$675-$800 per credit hour
