The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is a registered nurse who practices as a full partner on the healthcare team, consistently demonstrating safe and effective practice within our organizational professional practice model.

This role requires a nurse with strong knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet the standards for competent professional nursing practice. The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate coordination of care across the continuum. This nurse focuses on expanding knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and integrate best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences and values for the delivery of optimal healthcare.
  • Collaborate and apply innovative, systems thinking to engage in systematic, evidence-based problem solving and decision making to promote effective changes within a complex care delivery system.
  • Recognize the patient (or the patient's designee) as the source of control and a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.
  • Maintain a commitment to lifelong learning, adherence to ANA's Code of Ethics for Nurses, participation in a professional organization, and advancing community outreach.
  • Minimize risk of harm to patients, families, providers, and self through system effectiveness and individual performance.
  • Utilize appropriate information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision making across the continuum.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/CPR)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • More than 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience and completion of the Nurse Residency Program, if applicable
  • Pennsylvania RN licensure
