Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Waste Management Team Lead to join our team at Ed Miniat. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to lead our sanitation department and drive results that meet the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing sanitation activities, developing and implementing sanitation procedures and SSOP plans, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety standards, and environmental standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage sanitation activities, including pre-op/post-op testing, microbial and bioluminescence swabbing, and SSOP deviations;
  • Develop, update, and implement sanitation procedures and SSOP plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards;
  • Investigate and identify root causes of SSOP deviations, define corrective action plans, and ensure implementation;
  • Provide training sessions for sanitation employees on safety, chemical usage, and sanitation procedures;
  • Enforce GMPs, implement HACCP processes and procedures, and maintain pathogen prevention and control;
  • Implement the Master Sanitation Schedule and participate in federal and third-party food safety audits;
  • Track departmental budget and take appropriate actions to control sanitation costs;
  • Serve as liaison with USDA and local regulatory officials;
  • Collaborate with Third Shift and QA managers to define and improve sanitation and food safety programs;
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field;
  • 3-5 years experience in food safety, quality assurance, or sanitation;
  • 3-5 years management experience;
  • Strong training and communication skills required;
  • Mechanical skill and knowledge of food processing equipment;
  • Familiarity with USDA guidelines and regulations, SSOP, SOP requirements;
  • Working knowledge of micro sample collection and analysis, including ability to interpret results and take corrective actions;
  • Must be able to participate in organoleptic product evaluations as necessary;
  • Proficient with computers and various software packages;
